From the very beginning it was imperative to Founder Marty Morud that TruNorth builds a reputation for high quality solar installation and a company culture of substance, character and integrity.  Marty believes that doing the right thing will always feel good and providing a high quality experience for team members, customers, suppliers and partners is a must.  Marty has comprehensive knowledge of the solar industry and the regulatory structure in which it operates, allowing the TruNorth team to capitalize on new and rapidly developing policies to the benefit of our customers and the environment.  Our mission reflects our relentless passion for the stewardship of the planet and our dedication to be leaders in creating a meaningful difference in our future energy recipe.  Marty is credited with being a prime mover behind the Minnesota Community Solar Garden law and it’s implementing regulations and tariffs. Marty is trusted by Minnesota regulators, the solar industry community, and utilities throughout Minnesota.  Marty has led the Minnesota Solar Energy Industry Association Community Solar Garden Working Group, co-led the Xcel Energy Solar Rewards Community Working Group along with a representative of Xcel Energy.  Marty has represented the local solar industry at the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, testifying often on behalf of solar developers and contractors.

Why did you get into the solar industry?

Because I want to make a meaningful difference in our future energy recipe.

A fun fact about myself.

I've been addicted to "back of the pack" endurance racing for 25 years ! - I have completed 11 Leadville Trail 100 MTB races, >10 Marathons, 16 American Birkebeiner Nordic Ski Races, 25 Chippewa Triathlons and countless triathlons.
